About Me

A little of my story

I started running in 2017 after a very good friend made the decision to end their life. Running very quickly became my lifeline, and where I made a bunch of new friends. I was an avid parkrunner who ventured into half marathons and one full marathon. Then covid hit, everything closed down, and I changed careers. It's taken a long time to try to get back into running, including completing the Loch Ness Marathon on no training because I had completely lost my mojo (but had entered the race so was going to give it a go!).

In 2022 my sites became stretched when I found myself wading into the world of Ultramarathons, in the form of volunteering for the spine race. I helped as a medic, and saw the full range of runners from the elite athletes to the "normal people" (is anyone who enters an ultra normal?). I realised, looking at those getting medals, maybe not breaking any records, but still doing a crazy feat, that I could be that person too.

2023 is the year I start dipping my toe in and seeing where it leads. I don't want to give away all my secrets just yet, but I'll be a dot to watch for sure this year!
